If you are using a USB-serial adapter, try removing it in between uses.
You could click on "connect" and then power it on, or use the "disable
turbo" setting and see if it helps. If you  have it constantly transmitting,
it could interfere with getting it connected next time around.

The new GPS receivers are sure fast to get a lock! I don't quite understand
the reference to turning it off and on. Why don't you u pload your configuration
file to the files area? Unless you have a hardware / RF / supply voltage
problem, the answer will be in the settings. There's got to be a reason why
it's behaving as it is.
