Definitely high on my list. The whole concept behind a fill-in digi is to boost low powered stations get into the network. The current implementation simply digipeats anyone asking for a digipeat, whether they get the attention of the main digipeaters or not. Having the digipeater smart enough to listen for a main digipeater response first means that the fill-in only fires when necessary, leaving more room for other stations. You can put more smart fill-in digipeaters into the network without being a detriment to the network as a whole. This means fewer holes for the truly low powered units that NEED a boost. User education is a difficult job, building smarter networks is an easier course of action. James VE6SRV
