In a nutshell, the difference in behavior of the 350 vs all other Nuvis is what happens when the position of a named waypoint is changed. In the 350, the position is simply updated for the waypoint causing it to move on the screen. In all other Nuvis, a new waypoint is created based on the name resulting in a breadcrumb trail of waypoints. This might be nice for showing a track, but with the Nuvi's limited waypoint space, it overflows and ceases to accept updates beyond that limit.
So, Nuvi 350 updates waypoints, other Nuvis clone waypoints and remember each position.
