Thanks for all the info and yes i am using a Puck GPS reciever not antenna. I havnt tried an external antenna yet on the nuvi but may try on as soon as i get a chance.
Another question When i hook up my ext gps reciever garmin 18x puck i do believe is the model.... i get a faint crosstalk accross the internal speaker no matter what the volume is set at? Faint but noticeable and kinda annoying any ideas how to correct this or just a small annoyance with my setup.
