I prefer the autocomplete off as well.

All three have a behaviour I find a bit difficult though, if you have
text in the field that is one of the list options, when you click on
the field the menu will not be drawn. It means if you accidently
select the wrong option it is a two step process to fix, and hot to do
it is not obvious.

As a dedicated non-mouse person, I wonder how hard it would be to add
arrow keys. Are the events broadcast or are they captured by the field
?
