Hm, I just switched to passenger...
Could be interaction between apache and mongrel. Did you check your
.htaccess ?
With an empty .htaccess (/var/www/html/.htaccess - documentroot is
/var/www/html) it does the same thing - I log in to
https://my.host/tracks, and once I successfully authenticate it
redirects me to https://my.host/
It's not a major problem - I can just browse back to
https://my.host/tracks and get in fine now that I've authenticated,
but it's a niggle!

With my passenger install, I did "mv .htaccess .htacces.bak". Perhaps
instead of being empty it shouldn't be there at all?
Just tried that - no luck. However, I did notice that if I:
- log out of active tracks session, end up at https://my.host/tracks/login
- log back in immediately - redirected to https://my.host/tracks
However, if I log out, then browse back to https://my.host/tracks (or
even https://my.host/tracks/login), then log in, I get redirected to
https://my.host/ as before.
