Could be that your virtual host setting is not correct? This should normally bypass rails for static content, i.e. stuff in /public

I did fix that, which is helping some, but there must be other problems as well; I just noticed that the icons for notes are missing, for example. Hopefully tracking that down will help me track down the performance problem as well.
