I agree that it should go -- it adds significant complexity for (what
seems to me to be) very little benefit... but than again, I'm of the
view that the whole idea of redaction is silly, and that trying to
hide internal domains a: is doomed to failure and b: smacks of
security though obscurity.
I understand that "the market" doesn't agree with me, so, well,
perhaps my opinion is not valid...

I don't think the execution is relevant when it was obviously a bad
idea in the first place.
This is like putting rabid weasels in your pants, and later expressing
regret at having chosen those particular rabid weasels and that pair
of pants.
