Question regarding IG's in general

Folks,   About a month ago, someone advised that I subscribe to an ASCX12 WG listserv to pose some questions I had about a specific IG. I applied to that listserv, and have heard nothing back as yet. This is not to point the finger at anyone here, but simply as a lead-in for my current question.   I'm unfamiliar with the overall process of creating the IG's, and how they relate to the corresponding standards as far as who has authority over their content, etc. I was about to resubmit a request to be added to the ASCX12 listserv for the 276/277, when I began to wonder if that really was the appropriate forum for questions regarding the IG's.   Can someone here who is familiar with the process and/or organizational structure provide some guidance here? Is ASCX12 the appropriate body to which to take questions and issues regarding the Health Care-specific Implementation Guides?   Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me get a better understanding.   Hal Scoggins SBPA Systems, Inc.
