Hal,
In my shop we respond only on a claim level. Also it does not matter if a 2210D/E
belongs to this 2200D/E because of the selection criteria we use:
           1) if claim number is provided, the answer is trivial

           2) if there is no claim number, every 2210D/E is used as a source
of the beginning service date and ending service date out of
which we select the earliest and the latest (that's where the
service dates are for the professional claims)

           3) after this we select all claims for this servicing provider (and all
other criteria) covering the service dates described in 2)
As you can see, this covers all the claims having service dates which
intersect with the dates descibed in 2)

Folks,

The 276 IG shows that we can receive multiple occurrences of Loop 2210D/E
for a given Loop 2200D/E. The obvious implication, as I view it, is that
each Service Line Information loop (Loop 2210D/E) must pertain to a Service
Line on the claim identified in the Loop 2200D/E to which that particular
Loop 2210D/E is subordinate. However, that is not stated explicitly, nor
even hinted at anywhere I look in the IG. Is that indeed the intent, or is
the Information Receiver free to request info about Service Lines on
different claims within a single Loop 2200D/E?
