Michael, The LX segment allows you to have multiple Provider Information loops per insured. Loop 2310 can have up to 30 occurrences, therefore the LX Assigned Number must be unique (sequential within an insured). The 2310 Loop is only used if your health plan is managed care and requires that primary care or capitated physicians and pharmacies to be chosen by the your employees at the time of enrollment.
