[transcode] critical: invalid pcm parameter 'rate' for option -e
-e being 0,16,0 on 1st and 2nd passes. Really I'd just like to know if
that's what's causing the error, or if it's something else, at least then I
know what to try and fix.

Yes, that's the problem--zero is (obviously) not a valid sampling rate.

right, thanks.

i've had a look at the recording mpgs in kaffeine and xine. in xine, it says 48000, 16, 2. in kaffeine it says "Audio: MPEG audio layer 2 (lib: MAD) 0kb/s". i don't know if that's a problem with kaffeine, as xine shows the info fine. if not, it looks like it might be a mad problem, and i know i had problems with that a while ago and was trying out different rpms for it.

before i spend the next two days figuring out how to run the nuvexport commands manually (last time i tried failed miserably), would it be fair to say that adding -e 48000,16,2 would solve the problem?

and do you know if there's any other programs other than transcode / nuvexport that would be causing -e to be set at 0,16,0 (like, *is* it a problem with mad, or another program i can try upgrading)?

thanks for the help.

Christopher
