I have a neat JVC Everio HDD based video camera. The quality is great but
sadly I cannot edit video on my preferred video editing tool (Apple iMovie).
Apple's iMovie assumes that all video cameras produce their output in DV
format and does not seem to be able to edit anything else. It cannot edit
MPEG2 at all, quite why JVC chose a format that is incompatible with the
world's most popular video editing software baffles me!

I wonder, can I use transcode to turn that MPEG2 data into DV data so I can
quickly import it into iMovie in the format that it expects. Any
suggestions? Thanks.
