That's very nice, I'll evaluate a backport for 1.0.x. The only drawback is that we want to move ahead to 1.1.x as soon as is possible, and mantianing 1.0.x branch consumes some precious (because it is so scarce) development time. I've mixed feelings about that since AFAIK a bunch of users will still enable by hand a lot of options. Maybe that will change during our beta cycle, that is hopefully not so distant in our future.
