Sorry, I forgot that you mentioned that you are running from SVN. In that case the prefs files as well as the po directory will be in your python path. On my system it is at /usr/lib/python2.4/Pootle/ Look there for the two prefs files and the po directory. If you don't want to change the ownership there, you can move these to another location (for example the home directory of the user running Pootle, and run PootleServer with the parameter to specify the non-default prefs file to use: PootleServer --prefsfile=/home/pootle/poote.prefs Remember to update the entries in pootle.prefs that refer to users.prefs and the podirectory.
