Hallo and thank you for your report The import statement doesn't import Python's own elementtree package, but the standalone version, and my guess is that the python-elementtree that you have installed is the one from Python 2.5. Elementtree was only added with Python 2.5 The import statement should be: from xml.etree import ElementTree Alternatively, you can just install the standalone version of elementtree, but I guess it won't be available as a package in your standard repository. This bug has been fixed, but after the release (which I didn't realise). It will be fixed in the next release.
