This is a persistent bug whose source we haven't yet been able to track down. Make sure that you only use boring old ASCII characters for your name and username. The OpenOffice.org Pootle server had the same bug a few days ago. It was solved by restarting the Poolte server. I just registered myself on the OLPC Pootle server and it worked. Could you try again?
