Hallo everybody

We are now finally close to version 1.2 of the Translate Toolkit and of
Pootle. There are a few outstanding issues, but mostly I think we are
where we need it to be for the release of version 1.2.

I think we will all benefit from the final bash of testing at this
stage. Please put it through its paces and report on your
success/issues. For Pootle 1.2, you will need Translate Toolkit 1.2 as
well.

There are far too many changes to list here, but some highlights that
come to mind:

* new tool: poterminology [Alexander Dupuy]
* Version control improvements [Thanks to Lars and Miklos]
* Indexing reimplementation [Lars Kruse]
* New statistics handling for Pootle
* Substantially faster upload code in Pootle (thanks Wyanand and
Walter!)
* First support for Windows RC files (thanks Dwayne!) Now we can
translate Wine :-)
* Better handling of format specifiers in the tests (thanks Alexander)
* Many bug fixes

Of course also the improvements to Pootle as part of Google Summer of
Code by Julen Ruiz Aizpuru:
* Displaying an alternative source language in Pootle (with
contributions by Sayamindu)
* Search improvements (along with the new indexing code by Lars!)
* Better interface for suggestions
* Automatic unfuzzying when typing (with contributions by Dwayne)

We are struggling with a small layout issue in Pootle with Firefox 3,
and possibly other browsers. It can be seen here:
http://beta.locamotion.org/af/openoffice/translate.html?translate=1&item=64&pofilename=filter/source/config/fragments/filters.po

Any help in fixing that will be appreciated. It seems like a regression
from Firefox 2, but who am I to say that?

The beta snapshots can be downloaded here:

Keep well
Friedel
