Hallo Tamara I assume you are referring to files hosted in a version control system at SourceForge, such as CVS or SVN. Pootle can indeed do this. You can use the checkout of the PO files on the Pootle server. I am not aware of a way to run Pootle on SourceForge servers at the moment, if that is what you are asking, but with Pootle you can hopefully install the server software somewhere for you to accomplish the same goal.
