Hi,

Many thanks to everyone concerned for their hard work on 2.1.0 and 2.1.1.

My company is running Pootle 2.0.3 and it is working wonderfully.

Now we are preparing to upgrade to 2.1.1, and I have a very basic

question: what is the standard way to upgrade Pootle without losing

personal changes, e.g., the welcome page text and layout?

And please don't say "make a backup and then install over the old one"

- I need details..

We have made one upgrade before (2.0.0 -> 2.0.3), but it was a bit

of a hassle - I had to first merge my own changes into the file tree

of the new version of Pootle, export my subversioned po-files and

copy them into the tree of the new version of Pootle. Stop the server,

overwrite the current Pootle folder with the new one, then do python

setup.py install, and start the server. Then do an svn checkout of the

po-files again.

1. Is there a simpler way to upgrade Pootle?

2. With the upgrade method above, will all suggestions be automatically

migrated from pending files to the mysql data base? (2.0.3 -> 2.1.1)

3. As far as I understand, the statistics database (formerly stats.db)

will be reinitialised and put in mysql, is it correct?

System: CentOS 5.3, mysql 5.0.77, memcached, Apache, worker MPM, Python 2.4

Many thanks,

Cecilia
