Yes, we know this is not ideal and are willing to change it.

The current implementation is divided into pages; context units are 
displayed only when you filter units by some state/search.
But displaying the total number of units and the current position makes 
perfect sense.

We have also discussed several times on IRC about removing the concept 
of pages and implementing continuous scrolling.
