Dear developers,Pootle does not support 4-letter language codes, and I find that this is a big minus. We have added several 4-letter codes to the list of languages (like nl_NL and nl_BE, but also en_US and en_GB), because there are differences between the various flavours of these languages (e.g. /cellphone/ against /mobile/).
Where do we see that Pootle does not support this? Well, for instance where we like to use Google Translate. The button is only there if the languange code has 2 letters. Google accepts only two-letter codes, and Pootle parses the complete language code, which works for most cases. To support 4-letter codes as well, Pootle should only parse the first two letters of the code. Then we will be able to use our (paid!) Google Translate subscription.
Since this does seem to hard to solve, I would like to receive a patch for Pootle 2.5.0.
