Hi,

We face the following situation:

The template language of our project is English. We have a complete translation in Spanish (es). Now, we have added a second Spanish language (es_MX). Since not all strings in both translations would differ, but only a few, it would help us if we could indicate that 'es' should be used as source for 'es_MX', but still have 'en' as template language.

In our idea, we would see the 'es' string when we translate es_MX, and are able to check the box 'use this string instead of a separate translation'. Or even better (under Languages): use the 'es' string for all empty 'es_MX' strings. Then, when exporting, strings from both translation would be used to compile the MO file.

Please vote for this proposal.
