Forwarded conversation Subject: [l10n-dev] Localization/Translation of OpenOffice.org ------------------------ From: Frank Mau <[email protected]> Date: Wed, May 5, 2010 at 5:41 PM To: [email protected] Hi, after the outage of one of our pootle-instances and the limitation of the other two ones, we see a pressing need to buy new hardware with a new version of Pootle 2.x. In our mind is a quad-core machine (x86) with >2.x GHz and 8 or 16 GB RAM. To host all languages on one big machine, the disk space should be 1 TB for each of the two harddisks. This solution should fit into our future l10n-scenario: Short update-times for the pootle-service, early localized builds, continuous localization. Hope this fits for pootle and our requirements for OOo-localizations. Any suggestions? Let's improve our OpenOffice.org for a larger community :-) Cheers, Frank -- OpenOffice.org winner of "Best project for Government 2009" (sourceforge.net)! I bet Ivo was tired with Nagios alerts ;-) Kind regards Sophie ---------- From: Ivo Hinkelmann <[email protected]> Date: Thu, May 6, 2010 at 5:36 PM To: [email protected] Hi, a fast and new machine combined with the new pootle version would be really helpfull! The current state of the pootle services is bad. that disk also fit well for hosting the latest l10n builds in all variants! and hopefully we can switch back to file merge instead of file upload! This would improve the security and I don't have to delete any misplaced l10n zips ;) Cheers, Ivo -- Kazunari Hirano - Marketing Project Coordinator - OpenOffice.org Japanese Language Project http://ja.openoffice.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
