Group(s), [With Mission Impossible theme song music playing in the background.] I am looking for a relay that can be used without restriction for a fail over function between CO trunks and station sets in a PBX type application. The fail over relays switch select CO trunks over to individual phones should the PBX fail or lose power. The coil to contact insulation must protect SELV from TNV-3 and the contact to contact insulation must protect TNV-2 (which is not isolated from SELV) from TNV-3. The internal equipment connection schemes are cast in stone so I can't change the design to make relay selection easier. Finding relays to perform this function for the less stringent areas of the world that only require basic insulation at 120V (or merely a 1000Vac dielectric test) is relatively easy. Finding relays that are small surface mount types whose contact to contact specs meet the requirements for supplementary insulation at 250V for Nordic countries is not. Best I've been able to do so far is some nice small relays (bigger than the CAD guys would like though) that have contact to contact dielectric rated 1800Vac but the creepage and clearance distances on the mounting pins themselves are far below the 2.5/2.0 mm required. Does anyone know of a relay that fits the bill that I have not stumbled upon yet? Thanks in advance.
