Thank you to all that responded to my question on sources for Billing-Tone
Inductors.  

I've still not been able to find a 1.8 to 3 mH inductor that is small
enough in diameter (2.5 mm or less) to mount on the top side of PCB in a
Type II PCMCIA card. This is a combo-card, LAN and V.34. As a consequence
PCB area is a premium.  It looks like suspending the inductor on it's
leads in a routed hole is the only way to go, but this approach is 
wasteful, it uses PCB area on both sides of the PCB.
