From: Jim Taylor <[email protected]> Subject: K1197 and encoded analog content
Hi all, Is anyone aware of a company called CSL (Conformance Standards...???)? Apparently, they manufacture a product called the Digital Voice Adapter which can be used in conjunction with a Siemens K1197 protocol analyzer to extract the encoded analog content out of the PCM stream. Basically, the DVA info that I have at this point indicates that it works with PRI 1.544/2.048 and supports A-Law encoding ... seems that the 1.544 CODEC must do u-Law. A product like this greatly enhances the value of the K1197 as you can do EU conformance testing plus perform encoded analog measurements where required (North America, Australia....). Basically, I'm wondering if anyone has the address or phone number of this company, or is aware of any similar attachment device. As a side note, I'd be interested if anyone has a recommended analyzer to use for encoded analog measurements for the whole range of digital interfaces (subrate, BRI/PRI, T1/E1). Thanks, Jim
