Hey All,
Figured I'd throw my ol' 2 cents worth into the fray. I would like to
point out...it doesn't matter! How many of you know what you know now
because of something you learned in school? Ok...I'll give you math
skills, some theory...but most of the information "learned" in class is
"fill and flush". You pass the test, write the paper, turn in the
project and it is on to the next task. The educations system teaches us
to put out fires.

The emphesis should be placed on the OJT program a newly hired engineer
is placed into when they go to work. We learn through experience and
formal training doesn't offer enough experience to be useful, nor will
it ever be able to provide the range and intensity needed in the field.
It would be nice if compliance were taught, but it should be
implemented as a general design practice.
