Teradyne Inc. is a one billion dollar manufacturer of semiconductor and
board test equipment. Teradyne has recently filled its Corporate product safety
position and its East Coast engineering product safety position. Now Teradyne is
actively recruiting its West Coast engineering product safety position
supporting
four divisions in three locations: Augoura Hills (northeast of LA), San Jose and
Walnut Creek (northwest of SF).
-- Provide consulting services regarding IEC204, IEC950 and/or IEC1010
standards necessary to compile a technical data file to make a Manufacturer's
DofC to the
Low Voltage Safety Directive and/or the Machinery Directive and apply the "CE
Marking".
-- Provide project management services as the liason between certification
suppliers and Teradyne for engineering project by VLSI Div., Memory Div,
Megatest Div. and Automatic Test Div.
-- BS EE with 10+ years experience product safety consulting with engineering
on
international product safety standards. Candidates should posess the unique
technical, political,
and administrative skills necessary to be a product safety engineer
professional:
*detailed knowledge of specific standards & general safety principles
*experience in mfg companies with concurrent engineering development
processes
*experience proactively influencing the development process
*experience reactively influencing the certification agencies
*experience issuing discrepancy reports after evaluating designs &
prototypes
*experience teaming with engineering to resolve discrepancies
*experience implementating practices and procedures for compliance
management
*experience investigating safety /certification incidents, assessing
risks,
and resolving significant risks in a cross-functional
environment
*experience specifying and performing applicable safety testing
*knowledge of facilities, personnel and procedures at certification
agencies
*extensive network of compliance engineers at device manufacturers,
customers,
independent contractors, standards committees, test
houses/labs,
industry associations, certification agencies, professional
societies,
test equipment suppliers, critical component suppliers, etc.
*experience generating certification agency reports
*experience expediting third party certifications
-- Candidates must have operated within a concurrent engineering / proactive
design
review environment resulting in first time certifications for a minimum of 5+
years.
-- Design level EMC expertise a plus
