Is anyone aware of any proposed IEC/CENELEC standards activity for semiconductor manufacturing equipment?? The number of mircoelectronics manufacturers contractually requiring an evaluation to SEMI Guidelines is increasing. Get involved now or be surprised later. There have been two Strategy Workshops in the USA for the re-write of SEMI S2-93, Safety Guidelines for Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment: -the first workshop was at the SEMI Standards Meeting in Norfolk, VA on 15-Feb-96 -the second workshop was held at SEMICON West in San Francisco, CA on 18-Jul-96. The working groups are very active and the next standards meetings in the USA are be held at SEMICON Southwest in Austin, Texas on October 13-18. There are also active SEMI S2 working groups in Europe and Japan.
