Subject: Main Switches used as Disconnecting Device within EN 61010-1

Question

According to clause 6.12.3.1; main switches used as disconnecting devices=
 shall=20
comply with IEC 947-1 and IEC 947-3.
In my expierence with other standards such as EN 60 950 (IEC 950), EN 60 =
335=20
(IEC 335) or EN 60 065 (IEC 65), none of those standards has this require=
ment=20
for main switches.=20
Other checking the IEC 947, I have the feeling that this standard applies=
 for=20
disconnectors and circuit breaker for multiphase equipments.=20

I believe that double pole main switches, which are approved according to=
 EN=20
61058 (IEC 1058), with a contact gap > 3mm and a appropriate marking woul=
d be=20
acceptable as a disconnecting device for single phase equipments within t=
he=20
scope of EN 61010-1.

Does anybody know, why it was defenitely refered to IEC 947?=20
In my eyes, it doesnt make a technical sence. Any comments?
