Hello Loh,
Is PSB the only recognised testlab in Singapore or can we apply different
testhouses too?
I checked the CB-Bulletin, so far the only listed CB-issuing body is PSB.
However, they are may other testhouses, where a manufacturer could apply.
Do you know anything about it?

Hi! Heiko,
That's correct, as from 1 Jun 1997 onwards, mains operated ITE
and other consumer products are required to be compliant to
Singapore's Consumer Protection Regulations. You may request a list
of affected products from PSB.
Products must be certified by PSB (Singapore Productivity and
Standards Board) and be sticked with a PSB Safety Mark.
PSB do recognise CB reports. You may contact :
Paul Tan (Assistant Head Electronics Test Centre)
Tel No. : 65-7729771 Fax No. : 65-7746119
for more information.

We recently received an information about the enforcement of the consumer
protection regulation 1995 (Safety Authority) in Singapore. In accordance
to this law, which is effective from June 1st, a
ong other categories home computer (including monitors, printer, speaker,
scanner and other mains
operated accessories are covered in this regulation. A manufacturer, trader
or importer of those products shall register it with the Safety Authority
in Singapore by using a test report from Singapo
e Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) or other recognised laboratories.
1) Does anybody has experience with the Singapore Safety Authority?
2) Are CB testreports accepted?
Any info is appreciated.
