Richard, Discussions in the EU center on doing away with 3rd party testing to the TTE Directive and allowing for supplier's declarations to a new CTE Directive.
The Drafts of that CTE Directive that I have seen, do not require harmonized ETSI standards as the base for regulation but would also allow specifications that are publicly available to be used. The intent is to speed up innovation and do away with unneeded costs. Ciao, Vic Boersma
