Rod: Beyond the dow, I am not aware of any problems if a lesser Amendment than 4 is used, as in general, the amendment 4 requirements are less stringent than previous versions. As of yet, I am not aware of any requirements that are more stringent (I have reviewed much of IEC 950 amd. 4), but I am learning more and more every day! In general, I believe using a lesser amendment will only cause you to overdesign, possibly adding expense and size to your equipment. Hope this helps. I am still trying to find the answer to your first question. - MPP - ---------- From: [email protected][SMTP:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 1997 5:26 AM To: [email protected] Subject: re: EN 60950, Amd.4 Two questions: 1. Is either standard applicable before the dow? 2. Beyond the dow, must all existing equipment be compliant with EN 60950 Amendment 4?
