     Joe,

GR-63-CORE, section 2.2.2, Equipment Frame Dimensions, has an
objective (O2-14) for a maximum 12 inch depth.

You can have deeper but you will have to negotiate with the central
office for a place to put it. By the way, the maximum depth of 12
     inches are for two reasons:

          1. There has to be room for the ladder to roll by.
          2. The aisle has to be big enough for a fireman with full gear to turn
around. Otherwise the fireman will not enter..

     Hello TREG,

I am in the process of spec'ing out a new chassis product and it is
necessary that it meet the NEBS requirements. I am aware of the fact
that the chassis must fit in a 19 inch rack and the height must be in
increments of 1.75 inches (one U). What I am not able to find is the
maximum depth requirements. Any and all input would be greatly
appreciated as well as a reference to the pertinent section in the NEBS
     document.

     Regards,
