My understanding is that the Taiwan EMC Law requires compliance with Chinese National Standard (CNS) 13438 - a Chinese language version of CISPR-22 for ITE. No immunity testing is required at this time. Other standards adopted as EMC Law are also based on internationally harmonized documents, i.e., CNS-13439 / CISPR-13.
Only local manufacturers, agents, or importers may apply for certification of products. The testing must be performed at a BCIQ designated test facility. Application forms and User's manual must be in Chinese. The completed package (with fees) is submitted to one of the BCIQ offices for review. Sample testing may be performed by the BCIQ if deemed required. If the product is accepted a Type Approval Identification Number will be assigned. That number must be included on the product labeling, along with other required information. Understand that the process may not be as simple as it sounds, this is just a simplified explanation. Are there any immunity tests required? In other words what are the specific requirements?
