Has anyone heard anything more regarding the planned implementation
of the EMI testing, registration and labeling requirements that are to
become effective in Taiwan on Jan.1?

Before the Jul. 1, 1997 date was postponed to Jan. 1, 1998, Taiwan was
going to allow (on an interim basis) manufacturers to put the Taiwan EMI
marking information on the product packaging rather than on the actual
product. Will this still be allowed, or on Jan. 1 will all applicable products
sold in Taiwan be required to bear the Taiwan EMI information?

Has there been any information on additional grace periods or is Jan. 1
the final date for manufacturers to meet full compliance (testing,
registration, product labeling)?

What about product that is warehoused in the country prior to the Jan. 1
date? Can these products be sold or do they have to be relabeled with
the appropriate Taiwan EMI information?

Thanks for any information.
