If the adapter has its own approval to EN 60742 you should not need to retest it to EN 60950. It should be considered as a separately approved unit. EN 60742 testing is more stringent than EN 60950, which is why you see power supplies tested to 950 marked "for ITE only", and no such marking is required by supplies tested to EN 60742.
