Hi Mario, Thanks for the info. We are aware of the online services from the ITU. I have even allocated a certain amount towards registering with them, but never gone that last step. Kind regards, Franco. >>> "Daniel Meyer" <[email protected]> 23/October/1997 07:42pm >>> I've used the ITU fax service; works great. Dan Meyer Donelan Cleary Wood & Maser, P.C. I regularly order ITU-T recommendations from their Web site at www.itu.ch - the "Electronic Bookstore." I use a credit card, and the document is shipped to me electronically (that is, they permit me to download a single copy after charging my card). Most of their recommendations seem to be in the CHF 20-25 range (about US$15-20). The card number is encoded during this transaction (I think), so security is probably OK. So far, no problems. However, I recently needed to order a document that isn't available electronically, but is available in printed form. I attempted to call the ITU Sales & Marketing number (+41 22 730 6141) several times early in my morning (late in their afternoon) with no success (no answer). Frustrated, I sent them an e-mail query. Their reply included the following: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Mr. Roleson, Our hours of business are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. Geneva time. Unfortunately, we are 9 hours ahead of California which means that at 8:00 a.m. your time it is already 5:00 pm. our time. There is usually someone here after 5:00, try Bryan Cash at the following number: 41 22 730 5285, or after Nov 3, try Dale Madsen 41 22 730 5659. In any case we do not except telephone orders. We need either a fax or E Mail or a letter (this of course will take a few weeks) with your complete and exact address (Invoicing and shipping if different), the publication, and your credit card number and expiry date. Delivery is via Normal Surface Mail, Air Mail and Fedex is at an additional charge. ITU Sales Place des Nations 1211 Geneve 20 Switzerland fax: 41 22 730 5194 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I think I will try the FAX option - It should be more secure to send my credit card number that way than via e-mail (I hope). Wish me luck!
