Okay, again too quick- but this time the Send button. The Rubens coil described as 19, 4, 10, 4, and 19 turns produces an axial field at the center of 35.69/d oersteds/ampere where "d" is the length of one side of a coil in cm.
Volumetric uniformity is within 5 percent over a .90d cube and within 1.5 percent over a 0.70d cube (per Rubens). A moot point but the applicable Standard is Dod-Std-1399 section 070 which superseded the older Mil-Std-1399 section 401. The two are essentially the same with the older being in cgs units and the later being in mks units.
