We are using the R&S Software (ES-K1 & ES-K2) since 1993.
We had great difficulties at the beginning but we are very content now.
The ES-K1 software is an interpreter. The original scripts (programs) from
R&S
did not work properly. We customized them to our needs using the script
development software ES-K2 and we are very content now.
The software package is relatively expensive since you have to buy a driver
(dll)
for every device you want to control your system (Test receivers, automated
LISNs,
van Veen Loop Antenna, mast, turntable, switch matrix (RSU)).
NB1: You can make measurements without most of these drivers too. In
that case
you have to do some manual work: switch your LISN manually,
turn your antenna and move it to search the maximum,
switch the signal matrix RSU etc. (time consuming)
NB2: R&S has an "universal" driver (ES-K50). It allows you to control
any
device by sending the GPIB commands directly to the device
(High programming effort compared to the dedicated drivers).
Other features:
You can import data from ES-K1 to excel, word etc either via DDE or using
the scratch pad. In Rev. 1.40 graphics are imported in vector format, not
in pixel format.
You can define a sequences of scripts (with different parameters) to do
several
tests automatically.
Short: I can recommend this software.
