Hello Eric,

As far as I understand, EN-standards are published by CENELEC, a private
organization in Europe and made available by many standardization institutes in
europe and beyond. After this, the European Commission (EU-government) decides
to "announce" this standard in The Official Journal "part C" . From this date
of this standard may officially be used by the market for the purpose of self
declaration, so-called route 10.1 of the EMC-directive.

In any of the member states legal rights are gained only after the OJ
publication is followed by a publication in the Official Journal of the
respective countries.

Route 10.2 users and their associated test houses ( must be competent bodies)
may choose any standard including new and/or prEN versions of any standard,
judged upon by the competent body.

Last publications in the OJ for EMC were the beginning of September. Any list
that is newer should be up to date. :<)

Regards,

Ing. Gert Gremmen

I just placed an order with DECO for "BS EN 61326-1:1997". So it must (?)
have been published in the OJ, I presume. It will arrive tomorrow via
FedX. I'll provide all a report then (DOP/DOW...) and report whether there
were any changes from the IEC edition that I already have.

As I believe up to now this standard has not been published in the O.J.,
but will probably be announced soon.
For those that are interested, I maintain a page of harmonised standards on
my website that stays on top
of the publications in the O.J.
