Dear Treg,

I would like to pass on the following information from our German office:

Dear Liz,

You may have heard already, with the end of the voice monopoly in Germany ,
the BAPT has been closed and changed into a "Regulatory body" called
"Regulierungsbehoerde fuer Telekommunikation und Post" short "RegTP".

The new BZT structure is a bit more clearer now:

As of Feb 1st 1998, the testing part of the "old" BZT will be continued as
a private GmbH (Ltd.) company called "BZT-Privat CETECOM GmbH" with its
Headquarter at Talstr. in Saarbrucken.

The people and buildings will be the same, except for a few people leaving.

All of the previous services will be continued, except the EMC testing will
be performed by the "Regulatory body".
They BZT-Privat will also provide the notified body works. This is expected
in mid February 1998.

So, the changes for you will only be minor, all the work performed in the
past will be continued, only the name of the institution has changed.

The services offered are:
-Analogue testing for Germany, Switzerland, Austria against national
specifications. Also Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and the UK against tbr21.
-ISDN Basic/Primary Rate
-Digital 2-155MBit/s
-DECT, GSM
and others.

Regards,

Frank Weisser
