Paul, It would have been nice had there been such standards when I worked on one. In another life I did EMI at a company who designed and sold a DSP, full-duplex speakerphone for the consumer. I won't say where. One design decision (by whom I don't know) was a woefully under-powered speaker output. The result was, if you needed a speaker-phone, you couldn't _hear_ it. Too bad. Another great concept killed by needless cost-cutting. I bought one on close-out for $20 at a store near where I live, just as a souvenir!
