We at the Colombian Telecommunications Research Center CINTEL are developing a
project for the Colombian Ministry of Telecommunications that involves the
analysis of current national switching and transmission technical plans, from
both American and European countries. Is there any on-line information that can
be useful for us? What are the standards (if any) in this subject for USA,
Europe, Japan? If they are in printed form, how can they be reached?
Furthermore, somebody told me that CCITT edited in the 80's a series of manuals
relating to National Telecommunications Network Planning, including signaling,
switching, numbering, routing, etc.
The name of the manuals were something like "GAS", and it was a series of 11 or
12 "gray" books.
I am also interested in knowing if the ITU has published a newer version of
such books and where I can buy them. I have already written to the Sales
Department of the ITU but I haven't got any answer yet. Any clues?
