Dear Roger, JATE rules would say as follows:
1) There are 2 approved items 2) One connects in front of the other If the 2 items are a) still identified and sold under their respective model numbers and brand names and approval and are b) in no way altered in function, software and hardware and are c) approved such that the device behind the product it is connected is approved for connection to any port or interface of the type that is on the non-network side of the adaptor unit and d) that the connection to the PBX from the adapter was investigated and approved for the type of interface it is now connecting to or such interface was listed and checked and the e) combination is not marketed as a new product and f) the adaptor sits outside(that is not added into the chassis or cabinet of the PBX system in any way) of the product it is connecting to than the 2 devices can be interconnected and used as such in the network. Over the last 2 years JATE rules have been changing and some conventions have been modified. I hope this helps. Regards G. Rae Dulmage, B.
