FYI
There is a conference planned for the Lake Tahoe area October 20-21-22
entitled
"Understanding NEBS Requirements for Central Office Equipment....An RBOC
Perspective"
There will be speakers and panel members from each of the Regional Bell
Operating Companies (RBOCs) as well as reps from some test labs, industry
consultants and standards and requirements writing organizations. I'm sure
this topic can be examined as part of the RBOC panel discussions.
If you want more information about the conference, please contact me
off-line at [email protected].

Hello, all -

Some time ago, there was a thread relating to NEBS testing, and
to acceptance of test data by the RBOCS. There was discussion
about their requirement for NRTL certification for NEBS testing, and
for other testing also. It strikes me that this is very strange, since
NRTL certification is for safety only.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the emails on this; however, I would like
to know a little more about the positions of the carriers on this
NRTL issue (especially GTE, Ameritech, and SWB).

What insight do you all have about product integrity standardization
test data acceptability from ISO Guide 25 accredited independents?

Thanks in advance!
All the best
Kate
