My latest are that the text of R&TTE is now stable (joint text
approved by the Conciliation Committee, 1/13), COREPER will put it as
an 'A-point' on the next Council meeting (most likely 2.11.99), the
directive may be published somewhere in March 99, Member States shall
not later then 12 months after the publication adopt any provisions
necessary to comply with the R&TTE.

Does anyone have the latest status of the R&TTE Directive.
I am hearing that it comes into operation at the end of this year, with
the
posibility of some transistion time.
