Vic:

Since you put me on the spot, I have to response on this. Industry Canada
has a provisional requirement for ADSL. The provisional document was
published November 1997 and is subject to review at the latest by November
1999. At the last meeting of the Terminal Attachment Advisory Committee
(TAPAC)/ Technical Task Force (TTF), it was agreed that it is about time for
us to review the provisional document and to incorporate into the document
the requirements for HDSL. A working draft has been circulated among the
working group members for review and comments. The draft will be reviewed at
the next TAPAC/TTF meeting on March 3, 1999 in Ottawa. TAPAC and its Task
Forces are open forum. Participations of any interested parties are welcome.
In addition, TAPAC/TTF has worked jointly and successfully with TIA/TR41.9
on the harmonization of IC CS-03 and FCC Part 68 requirements. The proposed
requirements will be tabled at the TIA/TR41.9 meeting for comments and
potential harmonization before submission to TAPAC for approval.

By the way, I would like to thank for the compliments to us. We are simply
lucky enough to be more resourceful in providing the service. Regards,

Henry Mar
Chairman of TAPAC/TTF
Industry Canada
