Heh... I actually had a phone with an internal antenna before my Treo, and I didn't like it! Not only was the range not as good (no matter what they try to tell you), but it was harder to just reach into your pocket and grab the phone and know which way to hold it. With my Treo, as long as the antenna is up and to the left, I know I'm speaking into the proper side :-) That's just me, I don't expect everyone (or anyone) to agree with it.
